Taking Charge of Your Health & SafetyTaking Charge educates and motivates older adults about everyday decisions which lead to a healthy, independent life. Practicing daily health habits prevents chronic illness and saves money.
Taking Charge workshops for senior groups are conducted by trained Extension educators, community leaders, healthcare providers, and WVU students. Workshops focus on these topics: Be Active, Eat Smart, Heart Health, Diabetes, Arthritis, and Prevent Falls. Programs feature educational take-home materials, including tools for home safety assessments, and exercises to enhance flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance.
